Walter """"Dub"""" Hubert Towles, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Gulfport on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the age of 81 .
He was the son of Evolia and Hubert Towles, Sr. Born in Laurel, MS December 18, 1927, he met his wife Nadine Anderson while working at Ingalls Shipyard in 1944. They married on December 5, 1945 and had 63 wonderful years together. They raised two wonderful sons, Terry and Mike.
Mr. Towles worked 18 years as a nursing aide at the Gulfport VA Hospital and 7 years at the U.S. Navy Base in Gulfport.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Nadine Towles, of Lyman; two wonderful sons, Terry Towles and Mike Towles, both of Lyman; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, with another one due in August.
He was a member of Orange Grove Masonic Lodge #635, was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and belonged to Wahabi, Hamasa and Joppa Shrine Temples.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009, at 4:00 PM at Finley Cemetery, Gulfport.
