Walter Stokes, Jr.

Walter Stokes, Jr. was born on April 26, 1969 in Helena, Arkansas to the late Walter and Ruthie Lee Stokes. He passed peacefully to eternal life on October 6, 2018.
Walter was a 1987 graduate of Central High School in Helena, Arkansas. He moved to Rochester, NY shortly after that. He married his high school sweetheart but their union didn't last. He married his second wife, Helena, in 2004 and they remained happily married until his transition.
Walter had various occupations over his lifetime but, being a chef was his favorite by far. He loved to cook and he loved seeing people enjoy his food. He was also an avid fisherman and a connoisseur of the one arm bandit.
Walter had an infectious personality that drew people to him. His jolly laugh was as big as his heart. He loved his family and friends unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Stokes, Sr.; and a daughter, Alicia Renee Stokes.
Walter leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his loving and devoted wife of 14 years, Helena Marie Davis Stokes; one sister, Mary Robinson of Rochester, NY; one brother, Curtis Stokes of St. Louis, MO; brother in-law, David Davis of Westmoreland, TN; four nieces, Linda Brown of Helena, AR, Gloria (Terry) Gause of Helena, AR, Martha Robinson of Rochester, NY, Mary Robinson of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, Greg (Ngozi) Stokes of Charleston, SC, Lazarus Robinson of Rochester, NY; a special cousin, Patrick Wiggins of Las Vegas, NV; two close friends, Jamell Jennings of Huntsville, AL, Rob Burpee of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m., both at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi.
