Vietnam War veteran Mr. Walter F. Stovall, age 79, passed away on December 18, 2025, at USA Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. He was born on June 6, 1946, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to Willie Bilbo and Emma Jones Bilbo.
Walter was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He attended Bluff Creek Elementary School in Vancleave, Keys High School in Ocean Springs, and later T.J. Harris Jr. College in Meridian. He voluntarily enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Walter began a long career in construction, working at Ingalls Shipbuilding before joining Cox Construction, where he became a master carpenter. Prior to retirement, he was self-employed, a chapter of his career he enjoyed most. His favorite and final project was the home he built for himself and his wife, Barbara. After completing the house, he retired.
Walter considered himself a horticulturist and had a deep love for cultivating plants, observing wildlife, and fishing. He also enjoyed painting, watching motorsports, and old western movies.
Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Bilbo and Emma Jones Bilbo; his brothers, Henry N. Stovall of Vancleave, MS, Joseph Perkins of Bassfield, MS; and his sister, Peggy Bilbo of Pascagoula, MS.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara E. Stovall; three sons, Eric B. Stovall and Ruth Stovall of Vancleave, MS, Walter F Stovall and Bonnie Stovall of Copperas Cove, TX, and Kyle D. Stovall of Tuscaloosa, AL; seven grandchildren, Eric B. Stovall, Jr, Aaron B. Stovall, Erykah M. Stovall, Charity Burney, Marcus Reddix, Myra Reddix, Meeka Dunning; three great grandchildren, Averie M. Stovall, Eric B. Stovall III; and Saxton B. Stovall.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30th 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. Biloxi, MS. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave. Biloxi, MS.
