Vyvian Harper Frazier, 87, passed away April 24, 2013, at Woodland Village in Diamondhead, Mississippi. She was a longtime resident of Jackson, Mississippi and Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Frazier was born Vyvian Emma Harper on November 16, 1925 in Monroe, Louisiana. Her parents were the late Judge William Harper and Vyvian Wallace Harper. She graduated from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Louisiana with a degree in Sociology and was married to the late Oliver Beckwith Frazier, Sr. in 1946.
She is survived by three children, Oliver Frazier, of Diamondhead, Mississippi; William Frazier and wife, Polly Cheesman Frazier, of Dallas, Texas and Jane Frazier, of Jefferson City, Missouri. She is also survived by three grandchildren, William Frazier, Jr., of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Scott Frazier, of Austin, Texas; and David Frazier, of Houston, Texas. She also has two sisters, Mrs. Joy Marshall, of Monroe, Louisiana, and Mrs. Billie Jackson, of Denver, Colorado.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, Mississippi at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013, where friends may visit thirty minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park South in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be sent as a memorial to St. Richard Catholic Church in Jackson, Mississippi.
