Virginia M Gonzalez

April 1, 1936 — December 30, 2023

Ocean Springs, MS

Virginia M. Gonzalez - Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Virginia was born on April 1, 1936, in Puerto Rico to Alvaro and Petra Maldonado. She passed away suddenly Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Singing River Ocean Springs Hospital, MS.

Virginia led a fulfilling life and left an indelible mark on all those she encountered. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from Western Electric. Throughout her career, Virginia's hard work and dedication shone brightly, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Virginia's true legacy lies within her family. She was a loving wife of 62 years to Daniel A. Gonzalez; devoted mother to Susan G. Myers, the late Nelson F. Rodriguez and Carlos A. Rodriguez. Her children were not just fortunate to have her as their mother but also as a guiding light throughout their lives.

Virginia's love extended further as she cherished her role as a grandmother to Ethan D. Rodriguez, Jessica M. Rodriguez, Grayson F. Rodriguez, Benjamin Gonzalez, Caleb A. Myers; great-grandmother to Darwin Rodriguez, Elliot Rodriguez, Sophia Morris, Madelyn Rodriguez, Alyssa Paddock, Aaron A. Myers and Ariel M. Myers.  She is survived by her siblings Nicasio Maldonado and Felicita Maldonado, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family was always the center of Virginia's world; she is preceded in death by her parents Alvaro and Petra Maldonado; a sister Natividad Maldonado and a brother Eligio Maldonado.

In addition to being a dedicated family woman, Virginia had a few hobbies that brought her joy outside of her familial responsibilities. She loved going to the gym and maintaining an active lifestyle that kept her energized and vibrant throughout the years. On occasion, she enjoyed the thrill of a trip to the casino, where she embraced excitement and shared moments of laughter with loved ones.

Virginia M. Gonzalez has left us with a treasure trove of memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. Her kindness, love, and unwavering support will continue to inspire and guide us throughout our lives. She was a pillar of strength for her family and friends and her legacy will endure through them.
