Mother Virginia Flora (Sis) Brumfield was born to the late L. B. and Alice Mae Brumfield on August 14, 1934 in Collins, Mississippi.
Mother Brumfield confessed Christ at an early age. She was a member of the Old Hopewell Baptist Church, Collins, Mississippi, until she moved to Gulfport and united with the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully in the Sunday school, Senior Usher Board, Mission and Motherboard. Mother Brumfield also enjoyed visiting Friendship Baptist Church. Mother Brumfield worked as a chef for Keesler Airforce Base, Naval Base, and she worked for Mr. & Mrs. Mavar for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, L. B. and Alice Mae Brumfield; two brothers, L. B. Brumfield and Albert Brumfield; and one sister; Elizabeth Brumfield.
Her memory will forever linger in the hearts of her loved ones. Mother Brumfield leaves to cherish her loving memories a very loving son, Ellis L. Davis of Longwood, Florida; one granddaughter, LaShuned Demetria Williams of Mobile, Alabama; a special niece, Della Mae Brumfield; a special nephew, Larry (Jr) Brumfield, a special friend, Eddie Phillips. along with many other nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Gulfport, with a visitation for family and friends from 9:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Gardens, Gulfport. A Repass will be held following the graveside service at the church.
