~~Virginia Francis "Fran" Benson, age 68 of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Iva June Persinger; children, Joseph and Teresa Karl.
Fran is survived by her husband of 40 years, Richard Benson; children, Jessica Cobb, Michelle Brenner (Tom), John Karl (Dana), Richie Karl (Jenna), Ron Karl (Joyce) and Drew Benson (Jennifer);siblings, Paula Dickens, Kim Eckert (Ron), Bridget Price (Will), Molly Fringer (Joseph), Doug Persinger and Ken Persinger (Elena); grandchildren, Brent Cobb, Brittany Cobb, Michael Cobb, Ashley Cobb, Kristin Morgan, Kayla Rush, Kate Brenner, Katye Jones, Amber Jones, Ashland Jones, Landon Karl, Alyssa Karl, Allison Karl, Emma Karl,Tyler Karl, Mckenlee Karl, Memphis Karl, Max Karl, Cameron Benson, Chase Benson, and Carter Benson; great grandchildren, Julian, Anniston, Madison, Chance and Lincoln.
Fran was a native of West Virginia and she worked in the home health care business.
Fran enjoyed her church and spending time with her grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the service time, 12:00 p.m., at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, MS. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
