Virgil V. "Dean" Steele

Virgil V. ""Dean"" Steele, Jr., age 82, died Friday, March 22, 2013 in Gulfport.
Papa, Daddy, Dean - He left behind a legacy of unconditional love that is felt by all that knew him. He was a kind, gentle man, always ready to share a laugh, and he will be deeply missed.
Dean was a native of Colorado, a former resident of California and was a long-time resident of the Coast. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of 1st Baptist Church of Long Beach. Dean retired as a Technical Writer with NASA at Stennis.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Louise Steele.
Survivors include his son Virgil V. Steele, III; daughter, Norma Allen Steele; siblings, Warren Steele, Douglas Steele and Margie Gallacher; 7 grandchildren, Cory Hawthorne, Joni Utley, Beth Baker, Virgil V. Steele, IV, Tommie Ann McDonald, Wesley Allen and Dana Allen Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Cynthia Johnson, Scott Johnson, Rylan Freeman, Emily Allen, Hoyt McDonald and Riley Ann McDonald; and nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 25 from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel. Tributes may be offered at www.riemannfamily.com.
