Victor Joseph Lamousin III (Joey) died at 68 years old in his home on Thursday, May 20, 2021. Joey was a life-time resident of Biloxi MS -- born at Keesler AFB and graduated from Biloxi High School. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Joey was still grieving the recent death of his wife, Cindy, who died only 5-months ago. They had been married 40 years and she was The-Love-of-His-Life.
Joey was a good man, and a friend of everyone he met. He was known for his big heart, one of the many qualities that endeared him to others. He genuinely enjoyed helping people -- family, friends, and even mere acquaintances. Joey began his foray in the world of automobiles with his own business on Pass Road, Car Tunes and Used Cars. There he helped many people, particularly young airmen and young couples, find a reliable vehicle at a price they could afford. Joey also embodied a deep inner strength and resilience. During Hurricane Katrina, he and his family escaped the high waters in their small boat, leaving their home to be flooded throughout. Afterward, he found his business ruined and his home destroyed. He and Cindy gutted their home and rebuilt, restoring it to the dream it once was. Joey continued his work in the car business, willingly sharing his knowledge and skills with coworkers and celebrating successes together.
His passion for golf in his former years was eventually replaced with a fondness for playing pool, for which he proudly displayed several team trophies: Tri City Pool Association -Pub 3.
Joey is survived by his
• sister, Deborah Lamousin Saunders, who resides in Graham, Washington;
• niece, Natalie Louisa Smith and her three sons: Barnabas, Hollis, and Merlin;
• sister-in-law, Susan Burnworth;
• and Saylor, their cherished French Bull Dog.
Service: Even though Joey was adamant that when he died, he did not want a "service" it would be a fitting tribute to him to meet in groups at a favorite pub or other location you may have frequented with him. Invite others to join you by posting a date and time on the Tribute Wall (see above tab). Make a toast to him. Share your stories of when you met him and how you impacted each other's lives.
