CPO Victor D. Hodge, USN, retired, age 81 of Gulfport, and formerly of Phenix City, Alabama passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor F. and Gladys Hodge.
He is survived by his children, Jorie Fifield and her husband Kevin, of Columbus, GA, and Michelle Foley of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren, Josep Fifield of Columbus, GA and Ian Rigby of Phenix City, AL; and a special friend, Marie Rigdon of Gulfport.
Mr. Hodge was born and raised in Phenix City, AL and joined the Navy after high school. He retired after 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer, serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his military career he worked at Ingalls Shipbuilding, and retired from civil service at Fort Benning, GA.
In his free time he enjoyed golf, bingo, and fishing, and enjoyed living on the Gulf Coast. He was a devoted father and grandfather.
Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Friday, November 8, 2103 at RIEMANN FAMIY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd, Biloxi. A procession will leave the funeral home at 12:10 p.m. for a 12:30 p.m. graveside service with military honors at Biloxi National Cemetery.
