Vicki Sue Miller, born on December 11, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, in Gulfport, Mississippi following a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family. Her life was a testament to dedication, compassion, and the fulfillment that comes from serving others.
Vicki embarked on a commendable career as a nurse. In 1989 she began her career as a traveling nurse. Her journey took her from coast to coast, providing care and comfort to countless individuals in need. After many years of service and ending her career in California, she transitioned to retirement in Shawano, WI before moving on to the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she was able to enjoy her passion for oysters and a good beverage.
Vicki had a deep affection for cats, a love cultivated throughout her life. This passion was one of many that she shared with her children, alongside an enduring love for reading. Her ability to inspire and connect with those around her was evident in how she would engage with family members, nurturing their interests and passions.
She is survived by her cherished children: Gayle Lemmer (Bill) of Gulfport, MS; Ericka Sheely (Vince) of Mobile, AL; and Heidi Adame (Alberto) of Spring Valley, IL. Vicki also embraced her role as a grandmother to Ian Smith of Dixon, IL, and a great-grandmother to Adley Smith of Dixon, IL. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her little sister, Shelley Safranski (Randy) of Granville, IL.
Vicki was preceded in death by her loving parents, Gale and Eleanor "Peggy" Gossett.
Vicki Sue Miller's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and profession will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege to know and love her.
