Vicki Dupree Medved

In the early morning hours of Sunday, February 26th, at Ochsner Health/Singing River Hospital Gulfport, Vicki Dupree Medved passed peacefully from this life and entered eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She entered this life on November 16, 1953 to parents Charles and Rachel Dupree and spent the majority of her life in Gulfport, Mississippi.

She is preceded in death by her father, Rev. Charles Dupree; her mother, Rachel Dupree; her brother, Rev. Charles “Mike” Dupree; her nephew Michael Dupree; one brother-in-law, Rev. Edward Cantu; and one great grandson, Grayson Charles Kincanon.

She is survived by one daughter, Candra Medved Kessler; seven grandchildren, Dylan, Alexis, Lorryn, Matthew, Colton, Quinton and Londyn; two great grandchildren, Haydyn and Anastasia; four siblings, Debbi Cantu of Black Forest CO, Tony Dupree (Amy) of Saucier MS, Rev. Raymond Dupree (Dianne) of Columbus IN, Steve Dupree (Tina) of Pass Christian MS; one sister-in-law, Edwina Dupree of Oak Vale MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Vicki was a long time member of Apostolic Lighthouse in Biloxi MS where she served as the church secretary for many years. She began teaching at New Life Christian Academy in Gulfport MS in the 1980s, since then she has put numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren through school whether in a church school setting or a home school setting.  She loved to teach and help children grow in academics as well as the word of God. Vicki was a caregiver to her parents, she was a prayer warrior for her family, a loving mother to her daughter and an incredible Momsie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved deeply and was loved deeply by many.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Fellowship Cemetery, 229 Smith County Road 14, Taylorsville, MS. Family and friends may gather 30 minutes prior.

Services will be conducted by Riemann Family Funeral Homes in Gulfport, MS.
