Veronica M. Easton, age 92, resident of Diamondhead, MS, formerly of Southbury, CT, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, only two months before her 93rd birthday. Veronica, affectionately known as Ronca, was a long-time resident of Southbury, CT, having moved there in 1973. She grew up in Pelham Manor, NY, and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School. For many years she lived in Pelham Manor, where her children grew up, and was a member of The Manor Club and Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. Spending time with friends and family was her passion.
Survivors include her three children, Edward R. Easton (Sylviane) of Potomac, MD; John L. and Jeffrey M. Easton of Diamondhead, MS. Loving grandchildren and great grandchildren are respectively, Catherine M. Easton of Silver Spring, MD, Mason C. Melkowits (Nadia) of Houston, TX, Jesse M. Melkowits (Nicole) of New Orleans, LA, Maxsim and Jordan Melkowits of Houston, TX.
Veronica was preceded in death by her parents, Francis T. and Veronica G. McCloskey; her sister, Ann M. Kelly; and her brother, Francis T. McCloskey, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor, NY, followed by a graveside service at the Cemetery of the Holy Sepulchre, New Rochelle, NY.
