Verna Irene Noel Peregoy

Verna Irene Noel Peregoy, age 89 and a resident of Vicksburg, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in Vicksburg. She was born on May 15, 1924, in Newfoundland, Canada.
Our dear devoted Mother was married for 54 years and raised five wonderful children. She was a devoted mother, wife, and an Army spouse that moved all over the United States and Europe with her husband, Ashby. She left her beloved Canada when she was twenty three years old and adapted to life in the United States, endured multiple moves, adjusted to being a single parent while her husband served in WW II and the Koren War. While her husband was serving this great nation for 24 years, she was the pillar that kept the family together. She was a fabulous cook, loved her church, family, friends, and reminisced about her wonderful childhood in Newfoundland. There was no other Mother as devoted as our Mom was to her husband and family. They were always number one in her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ashby A. Peregoy.
Mrs. Peregoy is survived by her five children, Joan N. Craft, Stephen A. Peregoy, Donald G. Peregoy, Carol A. George, and Allen A. Peregoy; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1904 Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road in Biloxi, assisted the family with arrangements.
