Vera Aileen Hersey, 84, of Gulfport, MS, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie Laura and George Emanuel Bommer; her husband of 49 years, George Ross Hersey; and her daughter, Patricia Ann Hersey.
Mrs. Hersey is survived by her children, David Wayne Hersey, Steven Gregory (Audrey) Hersey, and Karen Elizabeth (Lawrence) Stoddard; her brother, William Edward (Joann) Bommer; her grandchildren, Audrea Aileen Hersey, Jillian Hersey Browning, Lauren Hersey Ferrell, Stephen Gregory Hersey Jr., Blake Jarred Stoddard, Graham Peyton Stoddard; her seven great-grandchildren; and her step grandson, Ronald Jay Lewis Jr..
She was a graduate of Gulfport High School, a homemaker and a wonderful mother.
There will be a funeral service on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILYFUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport, MS. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the National Stroke Association, in her honor, 9707 East Easter Lane, Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112, www.stroke.org.
