Venda Lou Dyess Mohler, age 72, passed away on November 30, 2020 in Gulfport, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil I. and Matilda Hinote Dyess; her brother, Steve Dyess; and her son-in-law, Kevin Akers.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Harry Mohler, Sr.; her children, Harry Moher, Jr. (Maenell), Shelly Houser (Saul) and Sherry Akers; her grandchildren, William Jarrell, Elise Houser, Chiara Akers and Caleb Akers; her siblings, Fred Dyess (Virgie), Cecil Q. Dyess (Shirley), Katie Waldrop (Leroy), and Inez Mohler; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Venda was a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and graduated from Harrison Central High School. She was a former longtime resident of Warner Robins, Georgia for 27 years. She spent the majority of her adult life caring for children as a devoted and loving childcare worker. She was a faithful and active member of Oakland Baptist Church in Warner Robins and was very involved with the children's ministries, Operation Christmas Child, and the live nativity at her church. Venda enjoyed reading, often spent time with and took her neighbors' and friends' children to church and to outings in the community and was always willing to help anyone in need.
The memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 7, 2020, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport, with a visitation from 12:00 until the service. A private graveside service will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 pm. All services are limited to family members and close friends.
