Velma Claudine Spruill

Velma Claudine Spruill, age 82, died at home with family surrounding her on January 9, 2014 in Long Beach.
Mrs. Spruill was born in Ashtown, AR, on February 13, 1931. She was a resident of Long Beach for 42 years. She was married on February 7, 1953 to Q.D. and was married for 60 years. At one time, Mrs. Spruill was the owner of two clothing stores in Long Beach; the Class Act, a women's clothing store, and Kids Unlimited. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Long Beach. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Velma Reynolds; brothers, Bill Reynolds, David Reynolds, and Gayle Reynolds; and a sister, Nancy Murray.
She is survived by her husband, Q.D. Spruill; her daughter, Theresa Spruill; her son, Mike Spruill (Frances); five grandchildren, Angie Bush (Chuck), Kris Brown (Melissa), Nicole Spruill, Michael Spruill (Candis), and Ben Spruill (Stephanie); seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Kay High (James) and Kathy Franklin (Doug).
The family would like to thank Dr. Lynn Leatherwood and his wife Lisa along with Mrs. Virginia Horgan for their love and compassion and taking such good care of Mrs. Spruill.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd, Long Beach with a visitation for family and friends from 9:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow in Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens, Long Beach.
