VaDonna Dean

VaDonna Short Dean, age 68, of Diamondhead, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022, at her residence.

Mrs. Dean was a native of Covington, Georgia, and graduated from Covington High School. She had been a resident of Diamondhead for the past 7 years. She retired as an office manager and was a member of Jacob’s Well Church. Her passions were spending time with her grandchildren and playing golf.

Mrs. Dean was preceded in death by her father, Harry Short.  She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Frederick G. Dean of Diamondhead; her son, Matthew Whelchel (Sarah); her sisters, Vicki Garner (Jim), Penny Kight; her grandchildren, Mason Whelchel, Easton Whelchel and Carson Whelchel; her nephews, Brad Garner and Craig Garner; and nieces, Helen and Charlotte.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Jacob’s Well, 29554 Vic Faye Road, Pass Christian.  Visitation will be held from 12 until 2:00 p.m., with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.

Mrs. Dean will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Biloxi National Cemetery.
