Vadim Astvazaturov, 84, of Long Beach, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Long Beach.
Mr. Astvazaturov was a native of Russia. He attended the University of Maryland. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He was a Scientific Translator and Voucher Examiner in the Naval Oceanographic Office. He enjoyed tennis, walking, ancient Egyptian civilization, traveling, reading non-fiction, including the encyclopedia and the National Geographic magazine.
Vadim contributed regularly to the United Way. Therefore the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the United Way or the Red Cross.

Vadim would be very touched and happy to know that the entire Long Beach community has embraced and supported his family whom he loved dearly. As he would say if he were with us today, "Life, prosperity and health forever!"
Vadim was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Nina Astvazaturov. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Tania Astvazaturov of Long Beach; his daughters, Nina of Rockville, MD and Anna of Atlanta, GA; his sons, Ben of Perris, CA and John of Long Beach.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 255 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi. Burial will follow at Long Beach City Cemetery.
