Obituary

Tristen Casey Nicholson, age 29, passed away on August 18, 2026.

He was born on May 1, 1997, in Biloxi, MS, and graduated from Vancleave High School in 2015. He played soccer at Southwest Mississippi Community College the year prior to his enlistment in the United States Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne infantry division. Following his military service, he graduated from the police academy where he was awarded the Larkin Smith Award and Top Shot Award due to hard work and dedication to the Harrison County Law Enforcement Academy. He began his career with the City of Ocean Springs in 2020 as a patrolman. He later moved to City of Gautier Police Department in 2022 where he was awarded the rank of Sergeant in 2024.

He will be remembered for his love of Disney movies and music, his sense of humor, his generosity, and willingness to go the extra mile for those in need.

He is survived by his parents Kari O’Neil (Jay Jordan), and Lamar B. Nicholson (Katie); brothers, Brenden Nicholson (Jennifer), and Carter Nicholson; sisters, Lana Beth Nicholson, Lily Jordan and Anna Claire Jordan; nephews, Michael, Caden, and Beckham Nicholson; grandparents, Joyce Schabacker, Larry Nicholson (Lynette), George Varney, Bill Heckman (Carolyn), and Hotty Jordan; and extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Schabacker and Patricia Varney; uncle, Paul Schabacker; and aunt, Chandra Nicholson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., from 2:00-4:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, and friends may visit one hour prior. Committal with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnels for Towers, www.t2t.org
