Tristan Yarbrough

Tristan Randy Yarbrough passed away on Saturday, August 23,2024 at the age of 18 years old.

It is with broken hearts and profound love that we remember our beloved son, Tristan Randy Yarbrough — a truly remarkable young man whose light touched countless lives in his far-too-short time with us.

Tristan’s survivors in his family include his mother, Steffany Anderson-Yarbrough of Pass Christian; his father, Timothy Benjamin Yarbrough of Slidell, Louisiana; his brother, Benjamin Hunter Yarbrough of Slidell, Louisiana; his sister, Amber Nicole Yarbrough of Long Beach, Mississippi; his grandmother, Donna Yarbrough of Picayune, MS, his grandfather, Stanley Yarbrough of Picayune, MS; his grandmother, Hope Yarbrough of Picayune, MS; his grandmother, Theresa Anderson of Pass Christian, MS; his aunt, Jacqueline Anderson of Ocean Springs, MS; his aunt, Tonya Gregoire of Texas; his uncle, Stephen Yarbrough of Picayune, MS; his uncle, Michael Gregoire of Texas and several great aunts, great uncles, cousins, relatives, friends, and Steffany's other half, Randolph Freemont Davis who Tristan was also close to.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Randolph Joseph Anderson of Long Beach, MS and his uncle, Joseph Anthony Yarbrough of Picayune, MS.

Tristan was known for his outgoing personality, generous heart, and endless drive to better himself and those around him. He was a dedicated student who graduated with honors from Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana, earning scholarships and the admiration of his peers — who voted him “Most Likely to Change the World” in 2024.

A young man of many talents, Tristan excelled both academically and athletically. He played baseball and golf, participated in the school band for several years, and was deeply involved in both Junior ROTC and ROTC, where his leadership and discipline shone. His love for service extended into the community as well, where he volunteered thousands of hours just because he believed in helping others.

From a very young age, Tristan had a passion for cooking, which he shared with his mother starting at the age of three. That love only grew over the years, and he often prepared meals for his family and for events at the American Legion in Slidell, where he also held a position and proudly contributed to numerous projects — from preparing dinners to cutting grass and burning wood.

Tristan was an outdoor enthusiast who found peace and joy in nature. Whether fishing, kayaking, hunting, or riding his motorcycle, he loved the freedom and adventure of the open world. He dreamed of one day owning a boat and had already chosen the SUV he wanted to buy. He had big plans for his future — joining the military, attending flight school, enrolling at LSU, and potentially joining the sheriff’s department, with interviews already underway.

Family meant everything to Tristan. He adored his younger brother, Benjamin, and strived to be a role model and father figure to him. From sharing his electric bike to promising him a car and envisioning a life where they’d one day live together, Tristan’s love for his brother was unwavering. He never missed an opportunity to help out at home, in the church, or within the community — always showing up with a big smile and a bigger heart.

Tristan’s spirit was vibrant, full of dreams, ambition, and a love for life that was truly infectious. His kindness, compassion, and dedication to others will never be forgotten. Though his life was tragically cut short, the impact he made will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Until we see you again in Heaven, our most precious and beloved firstborn son — we will love you and miss you, always and forever. Mom, Dad, and Benjamin

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Corinth Baptist Church, 1080 River Rd, Picayune, MS 39466, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. Reception will follow burial at North Long Beach Baptist Church, 7061 Beatline Rd, Long Beach, MS 39560.
