Tracy Owen Hales

Tracy Owen Hales, age 54, passed away on January 23, 2014 in LaPlace, LA.
Born November 4, 1959 at Keesler AFB Hospital, Tracy was a resident of Biloxi until moving to Louisiana in the late 1980s.
He was a 1977 graduate of Biloxi High School and a member of the band; a graduate of MGCCC Jefferson Davis Campus obtaining a degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration; a veteran of the United State Navy obtaining the rank of Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class serving aboard the nuclear submarine USS (SSBN-640) Benjamin Franklin; and medically retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in Louisiana as a GS-11 Electronic Technician working at the New Orleans Airport.
Tracy is preceded in death by his mother, Shelby Jean Sewell Hales.
He is survived by his father Glenn Hales and sister Penny Hales Edwards and husband Thomas of Biloxi, his niece Tracie Marie Craddock and husband Brian, and grandnieces Ella and Shelby Craddock all of Westfield, IN.
Tracy will be fondly remembered for his passion for playing his bass guitar and for his love of his classic cars, his high school '57 Chevy and his '66 Chevrolet Capri Classic.
Graveside services will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers family ask that donations be made to the American Heart Assn., the American Lung Assn., or to the South Mississippi Humane Society in Gulfport.
