Tony Stuart Burch, 67, of Waveland lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer at his home surrounded by his family on April 8th, 2015. He was born December 30, 1947 in Picayune, MS. He was a lifelong resident of Waveland,MS. He was a kind, loving, and generous man; who would have done anything for anyone without wanting anything in return. He loved the outdoors and fishing.
As a teenager, Tony worked for Leo Moran at his service station. He worked for Blossman Gas starting in 1969 as a service man; retiring as manager in 1980. He pursued a career as a shrimper and had a lawn care business for the next 13 years. His final career journey led him to work as a maintenance technician for Casino Magic and Hollywood Casino for the next 16 years, from which he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Sheila Thomas Burch, they were lifelong sweethearts; his daughter, Karen Burch Daw and son-in-law Michael Daw, of Pearl River, LA; his twin sons, Donald ""Donnie"" Burch of Biloxi, and Ronald ""Ronnie"" Burch and daughter-in-law Sherry Steno Burch, of Waveland; his brothers, Stephen ""Steve"" Burch (Debi) of Waveland and George Samuel ""Sammy"" Burch (Mary) of Waveland; his sister, Sandra Rutherford of Waveland; his twin brother and sister, Selwyn Rutherford, Jr. (Linda) of Brandon, MS and Sharon R. Lewis of Waveland; his sister-in-law, Judy C. Burch of Waveland; his sister, Cathy Gordon of Fairview, North Carolina; his mother-in-law Agnes H. Thomas; his eight grandchildren: Megan Daw, Brooke Burch, Devin Burch, Ashlee Downey, Jason Mack, Kerra Burch, Karleigh Mack, and Kynleigh Burch; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, and great-great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father William M. Burch, his mother, Hazel T. Rutherford, step father, Selwyn Rutherford, Sr., his brother, William Stanley Burch, and granddaughter, Brianna M. Daw.
The family would, also, like to take the time to thank Dr. Olivia Hightower, her nurse Julie, The Memorial Medical Oncology Clinic, all of the nurses and staff of The Memorial Chemo/Infusion Clinic, and his hospice nurse Cheryl with Kare-In Home Hospice for their compassion in the care of Tony.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 9113 Kiln-DeLisle Road, Pass Christian on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Bayou LaCroix Cemetery, Hancock County, MS.
