Tomas Lowery Loftin, age 65, passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, August 30, 2026, after a brief illness. He was a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Tom was born in Tallahassee, Florida, to Horace and Janice Keller Loftin. He spent much of his youth in the Canal Zone in Panama. He earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Florida State University. He worked as a civilian employee for the Department of Navy for most of his career. Upon retirement he enjoyed travel, birdwatching, photography and keeping in touch with family and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Laura Wilkins. He is survived by his brother, Rex Loftin (Karen); nieces, Ashley Loftin Hyman and Jannette Conner (James); nephews, Kevin Loftin (Beth), Richard Wilkins (Gina), Daniel Wilkins (Kristin), Shawn Wilkins, and Kyle Wilkins (Whitney); and special cousin, Thomas Halvosa (Renia).

Per his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
