Timothy Andrew Roberts, 59, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on January 19, 2026, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. In his final days, he was surrounded by the family he loved so dearly, and he took his last breath while holding the hand of his son, Kyle.
Born in Louisiana and raised in Long Beach, Mississippi, Timmy was a man defined by his strong work ethic and exceptional mastery of machinery. While attending Copiah-Lincoln Community College for construction equipment operation, his natural talent was so evident that his instructor once sent him home early, remarking that Timmy didn’t belong in a classroom—he belonged on a job site.
Timmy spent many years with Necaise Brothers Construction, where he took great pride in operating equipment for Mr. Herman Ray Necaise and forming lasting bonds with coworkers he considered close friends. An entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated Roberts Construction & Land Services for more than 30 years. His passion for his work was evident in everything he did, especially in the care of his equipment. Machines purchased decades ago still look new today—a testament to his meticulous nature. These machines have since been passed down to his son, who proudly followed in Timmy’s footsteps by building his own excavation company.
Outside of the job site or his workshop, Timmy was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in hunting and fishing with family and friends, especially alongside his son. Those who knew him best understood his unique duality: he was deeply selfless and always the first to help someone in need, yet fiercely independent and determined. He possessed a rare “never give up” mindset, often finding solutions long after others would have walked away.
Above all his professional accomplishments, Timmy’s family believes his greatest achievement during his illness was his unwavering determination to meet his granddaughter, Ruby Kate Roberts, who was born in December 2025.
Timmy is survived by his son, Kyle Roberts, and daughter-in-law, Lilly; his cherished granddaughter, Ruby Kate; and his loyal dog, Dozer. He also leaves behind his parents, Dewitt and Carol Roberts; his brother, Todd Roberts (Stepheny); his sister, Tonia Roberts Pavolini (Michael); and his beloved nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Gulf Pines Cemetery in Long Beach, Mississippi.
Riemann Family Funeral Home, Gulfport, is honored to walk alongside the Roberts family with care and compassion during this difficult time.
