Tibbs Golladay, Jr., age 78 of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tibbs and Carmel Golladay, Sr.

Tibbs is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Tammy Golladay; his daughters, Amanda (Richard) Skripek and Erin (Tyler Mitchell) Golladay and his grandchildren, Elliott and Rennie.

Tibbs was a graduate of Gulfport High School. Following high school, he attended the University of Mississippi, where he pursued a degree in electrical engineering. During his college years, as the Vietnam War and military draft were underway, Tibbs enlisted in the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country for three years on active duty and continued his service in the Air Force Reserve for an additional 15 years.

After completing his active-duty service, Tibbs returned to Ole Miss, where he completed his undergraduate degree and went on to earn his master’s degree. He built a long and accomplished career working on nuclear power plants throughout the Southeast, a field in which he took great pride.

Tibbs was especially proud of his military service and the opportunity it gave him to serve his country. Outside of his career, he enjoyed good food, traveling, and, most of all, making memories with his family. Some of his favorite adventures were trips to Disney World and EPCOT, where he especially loved taking his children and grandchildren and sharing those special experiences with them.

Tibbs was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be forever cherished in their hearts.

In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held at this time.
