Thomas Gordon Walters, Sr., age 83 and a resident of Long Beach, died on Thursday, November 28, 2013, in Gulfport.
Mr. Walters had been a resident of Long Beach since 1950 and was a member of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and retired from Roadway Trucking after many years of service. Mr. Walters was well loved and will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. & Opal Jermyn Walters; a granddaughter, Amy Michelle Walters; his brother, George Walters, Jr., and a sister, Marjorie Hager.
Mr. Walters is survived by his son, Thomas G. Walters, Jr. of Long Beach; his sister, Virginia Ann (Ed) Kersh of Biloxi; his grandchildren, Thomas Damine Walters of Long Beach, Tina E. (Leonard) Branaman of Pass Christian, and Rachel M. (Billy) Lewis of Biloxi and his great grandchildren, Elizabeth M. Branaman, Courtney S. Branaman, Aryonia R. Walters, Laura A. Branaman, Gazerilla A. Lewis, Leonard W. Branaman, Jr., Michael D. Lewis, and Trista J. Lewis.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013, at 11am at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Cemetery.
