Obituary for Thomas (Tommy) Dewey Fisher
Fisher, Thomas Dewey (age 59) was born at Keesler AFB, MS, on May 12, 1966. He was born to TSGT Ronald Roy Fisher and Mary Ruth Hammett Fisher. Thomas was Promoted to Glory on Friday, October 2, 2025, in Gulfport, MS at Singing River Hospital. Our family would like to thank the ICU Doctors and Team for their compassionate care over the last few months, when he was in and out of the hospital.
Growing up as a child of an Air Force dad, Thomas grew up in Gulfport, MS; Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL; and Hickam AFB in Honolulu, HI. After he graduated from Gulfport High School in 1985, Thomas enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1988 with the rank of SP4. After that, he lived in several places before returning to Gulfport.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Roy Fisher & Mary Ruth Hammett Fisher McCaleb; stepfather, Michael Augustus McCaleb; grandparents on both sides of the family; nephew, Noah Stanford Fisher; niece, Bethany Lauren Fisher; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is survived by his brothers, Roy Bramwell Fisher of Gadsden, AL and Steven Kalani Fisher of Frankfort, KY; sister, Cheryl Marie Fisher (Pamela J. Holland) of Gulfport, MS; nephew, Kalani Fisher; nieces, Leilani Fisher and Meaghan Champagne Pickett Batzloff; great-niece, Kaia Fisher; great-nephew, Parker Batzloff; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He lived life to the fullest and loved his family. Though he will be missed, Thomas is now resting in the arms of His Lord & Savior, as well as all those who have gone home before him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the MS Gulf Coast Salvation Army Kroc Center, 575 Division Street, Biloxi, MS. A private family time will be held at the interment of his ashes at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Monday. Thomas’ brother, Lieutenant Roy Fisher of The Salvation Army, will be conducting and officiating his service.
