Thomas “Tommy” Russell Ruspoli
Long Beach, MS- Thomas Russell Ruspoli ,79, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, MS. He was born to Russell John Ruspoli and Mary Chiniche Ruspoli on August 27th, 1945, in Pass Christian, MS.
Upon graduating from Pass Christian High School in 1963, Tommy as he was known by family and friends, enlisted in the United States Army on October 2, 1964. After basic military training he completed military police training at Ft. Gordon, GA. Serving in Germany with the 2nd Armored Div. Tommy attained the rank of Spec 4 on May 27, 1966, and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Sharpshooter (Rifle) service ribbon. Tommy was honorably discharged from the 67th Military Police Detachment/7th US Army on September 12th, 1967.
Returning home he chose to continue his service by joining the Pass Christian Police Department and the Harrison County Sherifs Department. Tommy served his hometown for 40 years, starting out on patrol and retiring as Assistant Chief of Police. During that time, he graduated from the State Police Academy in Jackson, MS and received an associate's degree in criminal justice.
In his spare time Tommy was an avid reader enjoying many Sci-Fi and Fantasy authors like J.R.R. Tolken and Douglas Adams, also collecting Mad Magazine. He also liked to watch westerns along with Doctor Who and Star Trek. He was a student of chess and was known to have built a model from time to time.
Tommy spent his remaining years fostering and adopting pets in need of special care, passing time with family and friends, as well as learning to make memes of cats and dogs.
Tommy was proceeded in death by his father Russell John Ruspoli, his mother Mary Chiniche Ruspoli, his sisters Boach and Conchetta, and brothers A.J.” Slick” and Francis.
He is survived by his brother, Frank Ruspoli; sister-in-law, Donna; his son, Christopher Andrew Ruspoli; and a multitude of loving grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins and colleagues.

Friends are invited to join the family for visitation and services on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am. until 12:30 p.m. The Prayer Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Tommy will then be laid to rest at 1:30 p.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery with honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
