Thomas Carroll Morgan, commonly known by family and friends as T.C., Tom, Tommy, 81 of Boaz, Alabama, passed away on October 10, 2015.
Tom was born in Morgantown, MS, on April 29, 1934. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of fourteen because he was tired of picking cotton and served in the Korean War until the army realized his age. As a young adult, Tom traveled across this country and met his first wife Aliece in California where they both worked for Convair Air Craft. Eventually, Tommy returned home where he is well-known in the Gulfport community as a lifetime member of the IBEW for fifty years in the Local Union 903, and managed several electrical companies. He was particularly proud of the work that his company contributed to the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Tommy enjoyed fishing, golfing, karaoke, playing guitar, and dancing. He loved country music and the blues. He was actively involved in the VFW. Most recently, Tom and Betty fellowshipped with Post 2760 of the VFW on North 3rd Street located in Gadsden, AL.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Ruby Lee Morgan; and his first wife, Alita (Aliece) Morgan. They were married for 42 years. Tom and Aliece have three children: Larry (Linda) Robertson, Cheryl Morgan, and Michael (Julie) Morgan.
After Aliece passed away, Tommy attended a reunion at the high school he attended, and a love story was reignited with his childhood sweetheart, Betty Joyce Morgan. They married on April 19, 1996, and were married for 20 years. His wife Betty survives Tom. They have four children: Dr. Ernest E. (Katurah) Brown, Vivian Lea Brown, Bobbie Joyce (Lee) Freeman, and E.R. (Andrea) Brown. They made a decision early in their marriage that both families would be blended in the best of ways.
Tommy's legacy lives on through his sisters, Ema Lee Dunaway and Bonnie Boyd; 7 children; 29 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, MS, on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.
