Thomas Miletich

d. February 28, 2017

Thomas "Tom" Miletich, 79, passed from this earthly life on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, leaving with only a one-iron to play golf with St. Peter, confident in hitting that coveted hole-in-one.
Tom, born in 1937 in Duluth, MN, fought long and hard with heart disease, limiting his ability to play the game he loved. He loved his family and his "guys" at Pascagoula, Mississippi Police Department where he retired as Captain. Tom was an avid sportsman and storyteller, enjoying memories of his days as a submariner in the US Navy, playing softball at the North Pole and hitting "the longest home run in the world-from yesterday to today to tomorrow" while serving on the USS Seadragon, the first submarine to surface at the North Pole, breaking through the ice.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Italika Miletich; brothers, Steve, Martin and Nick; and sisters, Mary, Gloria and Goldie. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Josie; sons, James (Shari) of Niceville, FL, Eli of Gautier, MS and Martin (Monique) of Escatawpa, MS; granddaughters, Maritza (Drew) and Taylor Miletich of Moss Point, MS; grandsons, Zachary and Thomas Miletich II of Orlando, FL; brother, Eli Miletich of Duluth, MN; and sister, Eva Cole of Mesquite, TX.
At his request, Tom will be cremated with no service. He asked, instead, that his loved ones and friends remember him as he was in better times, pray for him in your own faith and your own way, and please, no flowers. A private family memorial will follow at a later date.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Notre Dame, especially his dedicated nurse, RN Gail Sanich, and Doctors Hugo Quintana and William Lobrano.
RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. at Washington Ave., Ocean Springs served the family and tributes may be shared at www.riemannfamily.com
