Thomas Calvin Mace, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2013.
Mr. Mace was born September 17, 1929 in Birmingham, AL., to the late Ernest Calvin Mace and Nancy Mae Mace.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Velma Mae Nichols and Mary Ophelia Taylor. He is survived by his brother, Fred Womble Mace (Juanita) of Prattville, AL.; his son Dr. Thomas Paul Mace (Jennifer) and his grandchildren: Emily Anne Mace, Hunter Paul Mace, and Caroline Patricia Mace of Gulfport, MS.
Mr. Mace proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1947-1950 aboard the heavy cruiser U.S.S. Columbus. Throughout his life he was passionate about fishing, ham radio, and Alabama Crimson Tide football.
For the last eight months of his life he resided at One Magnolia Place. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at One Magnolia for the exceptional and loving care they provided to him during that time.
A private family service will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2013.
