Thomas Lynch

Thomas "Tom" T. Lynch, Jr., age 87, a resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Gulfport.
Mr. Lynch was a native of Indiana, PA. He earned his BA and Master's Degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Aviation and Electronics Maintenance Instructor. He earned the Outstanding Unit Award, the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Lynch served and worked in the USAF, the Gulfport Public Schools, the Biloxi Public Schools, Lockheed-Martin and he volunteered at the AFRH in Gulfport.
He loved sailing, ice hockey and ecology, particularly saving the oceans. Mr. Lynch was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, Knights of Columbus, International Lion's Club (President-Taiwan), Docent at the Marine Conservancy (Kona, Hawaii), contributor to The Ocean Conservancy and The Democratic National Party.
The family would like to mention his friends and staff at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport, who became a second family to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas T. Lynch, Sr. and Gladys (Barr) Godfrey; and his son, John William Lynch.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie Lynch Guagliardo Parker and his son, Tom Lynch; three grandchildren, Jennifer Guagliardo, Anthony Guagliardo and Miranda Lynch; and three great-grandchildren, Salvatore Guagliardo, Christian Guagliardo and Zahavi Guagliardo-Fling.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 7th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS 39531.
On Tuesday, August 8th, the funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. going to Biloxi National Cemetery where there will be a Graveside Service with military honors at 12:30 p.m.
