Terry Cruthirds Hewes

Terry Cruthirds Hewes, age 72, of Gulfport, born on March 11, 1944, passed away on October 24, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest ""Red"" Cruthirds and Florita Reed Cruthirds.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Finley Hewes Sr.; her sisters, Elaine Cruthirds Cooper, Debbie Cruthirds Walker and her husband, Bob, and Lorene Lewis and her husband, Walter; her sons, James Finley Hewes Jr., Forrest Hewes and his wife, Tiffany, Reed Hewes and his wife, Summer; 4 grandchildren, James Finley Hewes III, Delia and Jesse Hewes, and Smith Hewes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She graduated from Gulfport High School and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. Mrs. Hewes was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a genuine kind soul. She was happiest when surrounded by family and loved everyone unconditionally.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Saint Vincent DePaul Society of St. John Catholic Church, 2414 17th Street, Gulfport, MS 39501.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Gulfport at 11:00am, with a visitation for family and friends from 9:30am until the Mass. A private graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
