It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore Kaj Madsen, affectionately known as "Teddy," who left this world too soon on February 6, 2026, at the young age of 24. Born on April 15, 2001, Teddy was a graduate of Gulfport High School, Class of 2019, and furthered his education at Pearl River Community College, where he cultivated his passions and built a solid foundation for his future.
Teddy was a valued member of the community, known for his work with Sam's Construction, Pete's Plumbing, and PSG. His strong work ethic and dedication to his craft reflected the best qualities of a true professional.
Teddy's love for the outdoors was unparalleled; he found profound joy in activities such as hunting and fishing, cherishing every moment spent with his beautiful baby girl, Chandler Ivy Madsen. These experiences created lasting memories that his family will hold dear forever. Teddy's adventurous spirit and connection to nature brought light and joy to those around him, and he will be remembered fondly for the warmth he exuded.
He achieved great success as a B2B State Champion with the Gulfport High School Boys Soccer team, an accomplishment that stood as a testament to his talent and commitment.
Teddy is survived by his loving parents, Henrik and Jennifer Madsen; his cherished daughter, Chandler Ivy Madsen, and her mother, Hannah Valdez; as well as his siblings, Iben Riley Madsen and Bailey Alice Madsen. He also leaves behind uncles and aunts Jay Cuevas (Kelly), Angel Cuevas (Jac), Soren Madsen (Gitte) Anders, and Henning Madsen (Christina) Valdemare, along with great uncles and aunts Andy Peterson (Cathy), Bobby Joe Peterson (Johanna), Darrin Peterson (Leanne), Kim Peterson (Debbie), and great-great uncles and aunts Joey Cuevas (Jean) and Jerry Cuevas (Margie). Teddy will also be missed by his cousins Bella and L.J. Cuevas, Tobias, Olivia, Lauge, Cherie Barber (Travis), Aiden, B.J. (Jessica) Presley, Rebecca (Mark) Brinkly, Lola, Ryleigh, Wyatt (Hailey) Parker, Pace, Anna, Kurrie, Josh, Bert, Marlee, Kenny, Kristi, BJ, Dylana, and Dylan. Along with his grandparents Gary and Cynthia Cuevas, Else Marie Krog Madsen (Ove Christensen), and Lynn Lightfoot.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Kaj Madsen, as well as his cousins Joseph and Andrew Peterson.
The family will have a private graveside service. A public Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the Long Beach Harbor Pavillion, 720 S Cleveland Ave, Long Beach, MS, 39560.
The Teddy Madsen Memorial Fund has been set up at Cadence Bank and the account number is 84346709 for anyone wishing to make a memorial gift. Memorials may also be sent to Catholic Charities of South MS Counseling Department, 1450 North Street, Gulfport, MS 39507.
The Madsen family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Your compassion has meant more than they can ever express as they continue to honor Teddy's story and cherish the light he brought into their lives. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest easy, our sweet Teddy Bear. We love you 208030.
