Tara Rachel Philip

Tara Rachel Philip, age 35, of Diamondhead, left her family and many friends on March 8, 2012 to join other family members in a place where she no longer has to suffer from either pain or fear.
Tara was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Ethel Philip, and Joe and Gloria Campbell.
She is survived by her mother, Connie Philip of Waldorf, MD; her father, James S. Philip of Diamondhead, MS; her brother, Jimmie Burke of Waldorf, MD; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Tara was a beautiful, sweet, and funny woman who loved her family, friends, and animals. She was born in Washington, D.C. She lived with her family in Waldorf and finally, Cobb Island, MD. During summers of growing up, she always visited with her paternal grandparents in Diamondhead, either hanging out with them or attending summer camps where her greatest joy was grooming and riding horses. As she grew older, she also spent her summers helping her father manage his business, The Island Inn.
After graduating from high school, Tara worked for Geico Insurance in Washington, D.C. where she received an award as an Outstanding Employee after a massive snowstorm struck. She was one of only a few employees who made her way to the office and remained there for several days doing what she could. She then attended and graduated from a technical college where she excelled in both computer hardware and software curricula. She worked for a couple of years as a computer technician at Stennis until her illness intervened. Tara lived in Diamondhead for many years during her illness and was loved by all who knew her.
An Angel came down to earth one day
But alas she knew she could not stay
So to Him she returned for His love and care
And will always remain until we are also there
