Sylvia was raised in the Ducktown part of Atlantic City, NJ. Even though she was of the Jewish faith, she enjoyed attending church at St. Michaels with her lifelong friend Patricia Harkins.
Sylvia worked in many well-known hotels in Atlantic City, while raising her daughter Gail. After marrying Joe and giving birth to Sandy, she relocated out of Atlantic City into the EHT and Somers Point areas. Her last employment in NJ was at Atlantic City Sub Shop in the Somers Point Shopping Center. She and Joe moved to Long Beach, MS in 2004. Their home and possessions were destroyed during hurricane Katrina, but they rebuilt their lives with the love they had for each other.
After Joe, the love of her life, was called to heaven, Sylvia did her best to go on. Even with the love of her family, Boots, Midnight, and all the 4 legged grandchildren the loss she felt for Joe was too overwhelming.
A celebration of her life will announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to your local animal shelter or the Humane Society in her name.
