Susan P. McGill

Susan P. McGill, age 60 and a resident of Pass Christian, died on Friday, August 31, 2012, in Pass Christian.
Susan was a lifelong resident of the MS Gulf Coast and was a member of Divine Grace Baptist Church in Long Beach. She was a loving mother, sister, and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Catherine Lafontaine Dougherty; her son, John Lee McGill and her brothers, Lester Dougherty, John Dougherty, Jr., and Daniel Dougherty.
Susan is survived by her children, Sue Ann Vanmatre of Bay St. Louis, John Paul Leonard of Texas, Carlos (Joni) Chavez of Dedeaux Community, Jonathan McGill of Kiln, and JoJo Chavez of Mexico; her sisters, Donna (Rickey) Parker of Pass Christian, Mary (Louie) Smith of Kentucky, Rose Ann (Clayton) Thompson of Bay St. Louis, Patricia Rita (Terry) Helms of Tennessee, and Judith Schawartz of Kiln; her brother, Peter Dougherty of Bay St. Louis and 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7, 2012, from 6pm-9pm at Divine Grace Baptist Church, 5570 Red Creek Road in Long Beach.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 10am at the church, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alphonse Malley Cemetery in Hancock County.
