Steven T. Mason, age 69, resident of Biloxi, MS passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 in D'Iberville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Jane Mason, and his parents, Theodore Mason and Joan Broussard.
He is survived by his children, Tammy Johnson of Ocean Springs, Tina Bursey of D'Iberville, and Stephanie Buchanan and her husband Anthony of Biloxi; four sisters, Phyllis Mason and Janet Mason, both of Belfast, Maine, Cathy Bean of Searsport, Maine, and Rhonda Schnarrs of Hampton, Virginia; his brother, Robert Broussard of Warwick, Rhode Island; his grandchildren: Steven Johnson and Corey Johnson, both of Ocean Springs, Janee Fontaine, Dylan Spiers, and Stephon Buchanan, all of Biloxi, Kayla Kincke and Gavin Bursey, both of D'Iberville, and Anthony Buchanan of Palm Coast, Florida; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Mason was employed as a Deck Covering Mechanic Leaderman for 15 years, and also worked as a taxi driver for five years. He attained certifications in lock smithing and private investigation. He also served in the US Army for a short time. In his free time he coached softball for many years, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, and tinkering with keys and locks. He was a member of Northside Assembly of God Church, and assisted numerous charitable organizations, including Teen Challenge, St. Jude's, Boys Town, Salesian Mission, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, and Feeding the Gulf Coast.
Steve was known for his unconditional love for his family. He was a giver. He was well known and liked by many, and was known for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Northside Assembly of God Church in Biloxi. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Teen Challenge (601) 795-8063.
