Sterling F. Lenoir, Jr. born July 27, 1916, in Monroe County, Mississippi, lived in West Point for many years before moving to Gulfport, Mississippi in 1993. Mr. Lenoir died April 12, 2017, at the age of 101. He has been a resident of Driftwood Nursing Center, Gulfport, since 2004.
He is predeceased by parents, one brother, Hugh Lenoir, his first wife, Louie Bell, whom he was married for 27 years; second wife, Martha Livingston, whom he was married for 37 years; son, John E. Lenoir, and daughter, Betty Noblin.
He is survived by a sister, Mary Kay Potter, of Atlanta, Ga; his children, daughters, Carolyn Foster and husband, Calvin of Gulfport, MS; Jane Byrd and husband, Kenneth of West Point, MS; and Frances Waldrep of West Point, MS; and son-in-law, Buddy Noblin of West Point, MS; 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren.
A private graveside service with U. S. Navy military honors will be held at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, MS.
