Stephen E. Harberson, born in Sacramento, CA, on May 22, 1958, lived his early life in Woodbridge, England, and a resident of Biloxi/Gulfport, MS, passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospice at the age of 65.
He was a beloved son of the late Roland and Anne Harberson and cherished grandson of the late Nina Emily Hollier and Edward Hollier.
Steve’s life was marked by dedication and service. After graduating from Embry-Riddle University in 1997 with a BS in Professional Aeronautics, he embarked on a remarkable career in the United States Air Force, serving for over 20 years. As an Air Traffic Controller, he traveled the world as a Tech Sergeant from 1977 to 1995 before transitioning to civilian life where he continued to contribute as an Instructor, Training Specialist, and Training Manager until 2018.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Stephen found joy in simple pleasures. An avid golfer, he captured hearts on the golf course and created memorable moments such as his legendary 'hole in one' pictured here. His passion for golf not only brought him personal fulfillment but also served as a source of connection with family and friends.
In the wake of his passing, Stephen is survived by his loving sister Debbie Ockey, his brother David Harberson and sister-in-law Jeanne Harberson, his nephews Ian Ockey, Evan Harberson, Jake Harberson, as well as his niece Chloe Ockey. While Stephen may have departed our physical world, his memory lives on through those who knew him best.
Stephen E. Harberson leaves behind a legacy of dedication, service, and passion for life that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace as we carry forward his spirit of love and kindness.
