Stephen Bryant

May 2, 1951 — March 11, 2017

Stephen G. Bryant, age 65 of Ocean Springs passed away on March 11, 2017. Steve was born on May 2, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Pip and Dean Bryant, the oldest of 3 children. Steve loved the Gulf Coast and spent a great deal of his time there before permanently relocating to Ocean Springs in 1992.
Steve was a well-regarded construction manager and worked for Mid-State Construction in Jackson, J&J Maintenance in Austin, Texas, and for Roy Anderson Corporation in Gulfport at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Malvaney Bryant; his son, Blake Alan Williams; his daughter, Kelsey Marie Bryant, all of Ocean Springs; as well as his brother, Michael Bryant of Philadelphia; his sister, Kathi Bean of Columbus, Mississippi; and three nephews and one niece.
Steve loved the water and was an avid sailor. Before locating to the coast, he served a stint as Commodore of the Jackson Yacht Club, and while at home in Ocean Springs he spent countless hours lovingly restoring his Cape Dory 25 sailboat. He also loved red fishing in Louisiana. But mostly Steve was a devoted husband and father whose home was always open to family and many friends. Underlying his quiet demeanor was a constant dry humor that endeared him to everyone who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those wishing to do so, to make memorials in Steve's memory to the charity or organization of their choice.
