Stella R. Hemphill

Stella R. Hemphill age 89, of Covington, LA, formerly a longtime resident of Gulfport, passed away December 20, 2015.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gulfport where she served as Elder and as Treasurer for 18 years. She also served on several committees and commissions of the Presbytery of Mississippi and committees of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Hemphill, parents Jeff and Emily Raley, brothers Edwin and Robert E. Raley, sisters Nannie Quinn, EraBelle Doggett, Levilla Williams and Grace Ethridge.
She is survived by her two sons, David Hemphill (Deborah) of Danville, CA and Gary Hemphill (Lynn Lacroix) of Madisonville, LA; two grandsons John C. and Matthew Hemphill; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 5005 Lawson Avenue, Gulfport, MS 39507.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Noon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Gulfport with a visitation for family and friends from 11:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
