SMSgt Stanley G. Williford

SMSgt Stanley G. Williford, USAF, Ret, of Gulfport, passed away on July 28, 2016 in Gulfport, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, JD and Jettie Williford; a brother, Victor E. Williford; a son, Stanely G. Williford, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Luca Donlinger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rachel Williford of Gulfport; his children, Stephen M. Williford of San Bernadino, CA, Valerie L. (Duane) Biggs of Highland, CA, Chris J. (Cheri) Williford of Yucaipa, CA, and Cathy S. (Gene) Walker of Saucier, MS; grandchildren, Nichole, Jackie, Christina, Derek, Kristen, Sarah, Jade, Brandon, and Ian; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Stan served in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 28 years of service to his country as a Senior Master Sergeant. He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Among his many heroic activities in Vietnam, he was involved in moving American POW's back into the care of America at the end of the war.
He was devoted to his loving wife of 61 years and his family, loved to go on picnics with his family, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was a hardworking man.
He was a Christian who loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church in Gulfport where he loved his church family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at Bible Baptist Church, Dedeaux Road, Gulfport. Burial with full military honors will follow at 1:30 PM at Biloxi National Cemetery.
