Sidney Joyce Spence Saunders, 70, of Long Beach, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2006, in Long Beach.
She was a native of Camden, TN, and a Gulf Coast resident since 1970. She previously worked at Fred's Discount Store in Gulfport and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Saunders was preceded in death by her parents, Greenberry and Vadie Spence; two brothers, Merle and Valgene Spence; and her sister, Avis Spence Cole.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, M. J. Saunders, of Long Beach; daughter, Bonita Saunders, of Long Beach; her son, Stephen Saunders, of Trenton, IL; five grandchildren, Michelle, Kerry, Jim, Stephanie, and Missy; three great-grandchildren, McKenna, Brayden, Maysa; sister, Nell Keller, of Titusville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006, from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Funeral Home, Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Interment will be Saturday, June 3, 2006, in Camden, TN.
