Sheppard James Gonsoulin

Sheppard ""Shep"" James Gonsoulin, Jr., a lifetime resident of Ocean Springs, passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2015. He was a 1984 graduate of St. Martin High School.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Gonsoulin and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kalinauskas; an aunt, Dolores Gonsoulin; and uncle, Wilfred Gonsoulin.
Sheppard is survived by his parents, Sheppard and Linda Gonsoulin, of Ocean Springs, and Barry and Kitty Barq, of Biloxi. He is also survived by his brothers, Jeffrey and his wife Kini Gonsoulin and Dean Bellais; and a sister, Jennifer and husband Ben Andrus ; stepbrothers, St. John and his wife Stephanie Barq, and Jason Barq Johnson; and stepsisters, Brandi and her husband Adrian Ontiveros, Ashley and her husband Zeb House , Victoria and her husband John Broehm; an aunt, Angela Delancey; and step grandmother, Lou Barq.
Shep had two passions in life - his work and his family. He was a chef and general manager of the Bombay Bicycle Club for nearly twenty years, where he was integral in creating an era of Gulf Coast dining and entertainment that made him beloved by patrons and staff alike. He was currently employed with Trinity Marine in offshore catering.
His care and concern for his family was boundless and a great joy in his life was his niece Addison and new nephew Case. Shep was a caring soul that always had a smile on his face and a heart that loved his friends and his family. Shep always had time to help if asked, and offered help when you wouldn't ask if he saw a need.
A gregarious spirit and a comedic flair were the hallmarks of his personality. Time will never diminish the sound of his laughter or the warmth of his presence for those who cherished him deeply.
Visitation for friends will be Monday, 10/12/15 at RIEMANNFAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd, Ocean Springs, 1-2 pm; service at 2pm; interment immediately following at D'Iberville Memorial Park.
