Shelton L. Dunaway

Shelton L. Dunaway, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Mr. Dunaway was a native of Morgantown, MS. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving from 1943 until 1946 in the 5th Marine Division. Mr. Dunaway retired as an electrician and was a member of the IBEW #903. He was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a charter member of Joppa Temple.
Mr. Dunaway was a member of the Church of God in Gulfport and of the Christian Worship Center in Lyman.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Douglas Dunaway; his parents, Willie ""Buddy"" and Sarah Dunaway; and his siblings, Easter Beard, Carrie Powell, Fleta Perry, Marie Thornton, Weton Dunaway, Doska Robertson and Daisy Robertson.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years and 5 months, Elma Lee Morgan Dunaway; his son, Danny M. Dunaway (Catherine) of Greenville, MS; his daughter-in-law, Cathy Cox Dunaway of Booneville, MS; five grandchildren, Jason Dunaway, Amanda Walker (Brandon), Emily Mauney (B.J.), Kristen Richardson (James) and Jeremy Dunaway; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Thomas C. Morgan; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Boyd.
Visitation will be from 10am to 12 Noon, Saturday, April 27 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport with the funeral service following at 12 Noon.
Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, MS at 2:30pm.
