On the evening of July 24, 2014, Shawn Charles Lapniewski unexpectedly left this earth to reach his forever Home as the result of a brain aneurism. He was born August 27, 1968, in Florida and resided there until 1993 when he decided to call the Mississippi Gulf Coast his home. Shawn had a passion for the culinary arts and was able to express it through being a chef at many different coastal restaurants throughout the years. In his spare time you could usually find him fishing in the Pass Harbor or dirt bike riding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Christine Dohla and Michael Lapniewski Sr.
Shawn is survived by his brothers, Michael Lapniewski Jr. of Waveland, Chad Lapniewski of Virginia Beach, VA; his sister, Rachael Lapniewski of Largo, FL; his two step-brothers, Chris and Joshua Steube, both of Pass Christian, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Shawn leaves to cherish his memory a son, Chace Matthew Lapniewski and a daughter, Hannah Necole Lapniewski, both of Waveland.
There will be a Prayer Service on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 11am at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis. There will be a visitation for family and friends beginning at 10am until the service.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the City of Waveland Officers and Investigators, the Hancock County Coroner, Jim Faulk and to Riemann Family Funeral Homes.
