Sharon Ann Ladner, of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away peacefully in her hometown on September 21, 2024. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sharon was a proud graduate of Mississippi State University, where she studied Animal Science. Her passion for animals extended far beyond her studies. Throughout her life, she opened her heart and home to countless animals, fostering them with love and care until she could find them forever homes. From frogs to eagles, her devotion to animal welfare was evident in all she did. She always had bags of cat and dog food in her car in case she came across an animal in need.
Professionally, Sharon made her mark as a co-founder of Magnolia Iron Work, a company that specialized in manufacturing lifts and iron fences. Her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her craft reflected her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
As a woman of faith, she was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church.
Sharon is survived by her loving parents, Ronald Ladner of Bay St. Louis and Sheila of D'Iberville; her brothers, Russell A. Ladner and Brian A. Ladner (Judy), both of Hancock County: her niece, Kayla and her children, Parker, Logan, Noah, and Amelia; and several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous long-time friends, some of whom date back to her kindergarten days.
Sharon’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and a fierce love for animals will continue to inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the Gulfport Humane Society.
