Sharon K. Blanchard, born on December 11, 1943, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2026. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, strong faith, and dedication to family and community. She was a native to New Orleans, LA and a resident of Long Beach, MS.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rita Bourgeois Hunn Regan; and her brother, Edward J. Hunn, Jr.
Sharon is survived by her stepfather, Don W. Regan; her beloved son, Shane Mikle Schwaller; sibling, Cynthia Regan Hallman (Derrick, deceased); and sister-in-law, Jean M. Hunn; her cherished nieces and nephews who called her "Nanny", Erica Hunn Gibbs (Brian), Darren (DJ) Koenenn, Jr. (Emily), Cara Marie Hallman, and Keegan J. Hallman; and her wonderful great nieces and nephews, Aubrey M. Gibbs, Sydney R. Gibbs, Theodore (Teddy) J. Koenenn, and Blaize J. Estay; and numerous cousins and friends that felt like family.
Sharon considered her greatest achievement as being Mom, Sister, or Nanny to most everyone that crossed her threshold! Her focused work ethic and empathetic customer service earned rewards for excellence throughout her career at GMAC. Though it was a personal hardship, she endured relocations from Long Beach MS to Raleigh NC to New Orleans LA prior to retiring with benefits! Crown Buick – Metairie LA learned that Sharon was available and lured her back to work due to her significant skill sets that fit the dealership’s needs perfectly!
She could be found enjoying a glass of wine with friends, cooking like a true Cajun in the kitchen, or watching Saints Football! Sharon’s Catholic Faith was unwavering! When homebound due to illness, she religiously watched Mass on EWTN Global Catholic Television Network and said her Rosary daily. Easter Sunday found her watching the classics of The Ten Commandments and Ben Hur. Sharon enjoyed her pets like children and pampered them to the extreme! She enjoyed watching Brandon McMillan’s “Lucky Dog” program that traced his work rescuing “unadoptable” canines and adopted several throughout her lifetime. True to her giving nature, Sharon’s favorite holiday was Christmas where she held Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and everyone was welcomed!
The family expresses a heartfelt thank you to her niece, Cara Hallman, who devoted many years to providing Sharon with daily companionship and care. This support allowed Sharon and her son, Shane, to remain comfortable in their own home.
